Effective Weight Loss for Women with Whey Protein

Many women fear whey protein for the misconception that it will somehow make them ‘bulk up’ and start to resemble a female hulk! Well THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! It actually cannot be further from the truth as whey protein can help women enormously with their weight loss goals. The women that you see on TV with huge muscles have most probably used additional hormone supplements to allow them to develop and grow muscle mass. Women in general simply lack enough of these hormones to grow sufficient muscle to bulk up. Therefore women should not feel that using whey protein will in anyway make them grow bulkier or bulk up or grow enormous arm muscles or anything like that, for the last time it will not make you bulk up!!!

As many of you will know one of the most effective weight loss diet regimes for women is a high protein diet. For one thing, protein generally requires more energy to digest than other food types because of its thermodynamic effect on the metabolism. As a result you tend to burn a larger number of calories after consuming a protein meal. More calories burned equals more weight loss. Another effect of whey protein for weight loss in women is that protein in general is well documented as being able to reduce hunger. It is an extremely low GI food and therefore effective appetite suppressant, a lot more so than carbohydrates and fats. The more full you feel, the less likely you are to snack and binge on other foods which can compromise your weight loss goals. Whey protein is in fact a better appetite suppresser than any other protein, according to many scientists.

However, there is usually one problem often encountered by women with high protein diets and that is how to get the required amount of protein without the extra calories. Whey protein is perfect for women for this very purpose. Most whey protein powders will contain per serving around 25g of protein yet only 120kcal, no fat or cholesterol and very low carbs. In comparison 100g of chicken breast contains 21g protein with the same number of calories, 120kcal but 3.4g fat (chicken breast is still an extremely healthy option). Fillet stake is much worse however with 200kcal, 28g protein and 8.5g fat!!

Whey protein offers women the chance to truly succeed in achieving effective weight loss goals and it is extremely easy to make and tastes fantastic. You can choose a variety of flavours from vanilla, banana, strawberry, mint choc. To my personal favourite chocolate!! It mixes extremely well with water or milk (use skimmed milk for reduced fat) and is very fast to make. It is also very easy to take with you wherever you go, for instance I pack one in my bag for a mid-afternoon snack at work. I also use one after a workout at the gym to help me recover. All in all whey protein is fully recommended for women to use for weight loss and you should defiantly give it a go. Good luck! x

Women can boost their immune system with whey protein

Healthy immune system= Fight disease off, feel stronger, and an added bonus of great skin, hair and nails!

In a time where we are all assaulted by environmental toxins and unhealthy foods, I believe that all women can use the boost in our immune system that whey protein provides. The immune system is basically the body’s defence mechanism against toxins. The Immune response is how your body recognizes and defends itself against bacteria, viruses, and substances that appear foreign and harmful to the body. It is vital to keep your immune system healthy and full of helpful antioxidants in order to fight off diseases and harmful free radical damage. Whey protein can provide a key part of A women’s daily dose of antioxidants.

Did you know that whey protein actually contains many similar ingredients to our mother's milk?

Because of this whey is a key ingredient in many baby formulas and foods in order to provide them with the necessary antioxidants to boost their immune system. There has been considerable research into this and studies have been done that have proven that whey protein supports immune function. It does this boosting the level of the body’s natural antioxidant glutathione. Glutathione is not known as the ‘mother of all antioxidants’ for nothing. It is one of the strongest antioxidants in nature and the strongest naturally produced in our bodies. It is vital for a healthy immune system and to provide protection from harmful free radicals. Whey protein is able to increase production of this key antioxidant because it consists of many superior amino acids and high concentration of branched-chain amino acids that scientists have discovered play a key role in its natural synthesis. Additionally both cellular and hormonal response will improve by consuming whey protein.

By boosting the body’s immune system. Women will also notice that their skin, hair and nails condition will improve because of the knock on effect of increased antioxidant presence caused by whey. Whey protein has actually been found to enhance the skin, hair and nails condition! Quite the surprise eh!

If you also want to reduce immune damage try not to consume any coffee, fried foods, processed foods, soft drinks, stimulants, sugar, tea, or white flour products; these are known to depress immune function. I hope that you will seriously consider whey protein women in order to help boost your immune system.

Whey protein can give women increased energy

Whey protein in the diet can actually help in giving women more energy throughout the day. Did you know that a simple way to increase energy is by eating more frequently, but with smaller portions each time. It is usually recommended for women to have about 5-6 smaller meals instead of the usual 3 large meals a day. This allows for continuous digestion by your body’s metabolism and actually increases the digestion rate. By providing your metabolism with a constant supply of fuel throughout the day you get a constant supply of energy.

This works because your blood sugar levels remain balanced instead of the usual rise and falls in blood sugar experienced when you eat 3 larger meals. Have you ever felt tired in mid afternoon after a heavy lunch? This is because of a fall in blood sugar. By eating more frequent smaller meals you can ensure that you have constant energy throughout day. But how do you manage 6 meals in a day without either gaining weight from eating too much or not having enough time to make them. Busy women don’t have time to make 6 healthy meals in a day, I know I don’t! The answer can be solved simply with a whey protein shake. These are not only quick and easy to make (2 scoops of protein powder in a bottle mixed with water) but can be placed in a handbag for when you are at work. They also have the added benefit of containing almost no fat or cholesterol and few calories which ensures that you actually lose weight while increasing your daily energy. Whey protein gives women an easy healthy means of maintaining blood sugar levels and increasing daily energy levels.
